Canadian singer-songwriter Deniz Reno was born in Kazakhstan to an artist family, and one could say her fate was written in the stars long before she ever sung a note. Reno, a native Russian speaker, eventually learned English through music when her family emigrated to Canada at the age of ten and was writing songs by the time she was fourteen. Also a gifted visual artist, her lyrics and melodies are as expressive and thought-provoking as the acrylic she lays on canvas. In 2016 Reno’s cover of Chris Izaak’s “Wicked Game” clocked in over 30 million streams across DSPs and was supported by A-List tastemakers such as Above & Beyond, Paul Oakenfold, and Tiesto. Since then, Reno has written and been featured on records released by Atlantic Records, Dim Mak, Anjunabeats, and mau5trap, to name a few.
